Georgia Southern leads the all-time series 12-8-1 with the series tied 5-5-1 in games played in Statesboro. The two teams last met in 2021 in Macon where the Eagles won, 1-0.
LAST TIME OUT
Larkin Thomason scored her first collegiate hat trick to help the Mercer Bears to a 4-0 win over UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon from Betts Stadium.
Anna Bachman was the other goal scorer for the Bears who were also strong defensively, shutting out their third consecutive opponent. Lena Dykes, Sara Engels and Jada Moorman all had one assist on the day for the Bears.

Georgia Southern enters Thursday's game coming off its first win of the season, 2-0 at home over Kennesaw State. The Eagles began their season in Honolulu, Hawaii where they dropped two games by one goal each to Hawaii and Pepperdine.
Georgia Southern was picked to finish tied for fourth out of 14 teams in the 2024 Sun Belt Preseason Poll. Last season, the Eagles finished 12-6-1 overall with a 7-3-0 record in conference play.Â
Two Georgia Southern players were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team in junior forward Bri Conley and senior midfielder Smith Cathey. In 2023, the duo finished second and third on the team in points (19 & 14) and goals (7 each). So far this season, Cathey leads the team in goals with three, however Conley is still looking for her first point this season.
Georgia Southern has scored in all three games so far this season, but hasn't scored more than two goals in a game. Outside of Cathey, only two other players for the Eagles have scored a goal this season. The Eagles average 13.7 shots per game while allowing 12.3.
