MACON - The Mercer men's lacrosse head coach, Ryan Danehy, announced the hiring of Kellen Arthur as a new graduate assistant for the Bears.
Before joining the staff, Arthur spent four years as a midfielder for the Bears. The Cockeysville, Maryland native played in all 14 games during his senior campaign, picking up six ground balls and causing four turnovers. Additionally, Arthur was named to the 2020-21 SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
Arthur received his undergraduate degree in business from Mercer and is currently pursuing a masters degree in business administration.
Prior to Mercer, Arthur spent two years as a midfielder on the varsity squad at Calvert Hall College High School for coach Bryan Kelly. Arthur also played for Kelly on the club circuit, spending eight seasons with FCA Lacrosse MD.
"Kellen's dedication to this program was, and continues to be, exemplary to those around him." Danehy said. "Before he graduated last year, he told me how he wanted to coach lacrosse in college. In his current role, Kellen will be hands-on, directly impacting our players' experience every day. In just a short time he has already helped us in taking the next step as a program."
