Bears Improve Standing In Second Day Of JT Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – The Mercer men's golf team moved up the leaderboard on day two of the JT Poston Invitational, shooting 6-over as a team on Monday. The Bears now sit in 12th place.

Freshmen Henry Robards continued his strong play with a 2-under 68 performance in round two. Robards recorded four birdies with only two bogeys in Monday's round. He is tied for 15th place on the individual leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round.

Nathan Trodd carded a two-over 72 on the day to settle into a tie for 45th on the individual leaderboard. The highlight of his round was an eagle on the par four 15th hole.

Trey Mixon, Ryan Curran and J.T. Herman rounded out the Bears lineup by shooting 72, 74 and 75, respectively.

Lipscomb continued to pace the field on day two, moving to 17-under for the tournament to build an 11 stroke lead over second-place Coastal Carolina. James Madison, Kennesaw State and Xavier round out the top five on the team leaderboard.

Lipscomb's Alejandro Rodriguez remains in first place on the individual board at nine-under.
