Bears Conclude Play At Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Three Bears finished the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in the red as Mercer finished 14th of 16 teams at Forest Hills Golf Club on Easter Sunday.
Henry Robards carded the best round of the day for the Bears with a three-under 69. The sophomore from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, finished tied for 41st individually with teammate Nathan Trodd at two under par after 54 holes.
Josemaria Gutierrez finished the event at four under par after shooting a two-under 70 in round three. Gutierrez was the only Bear to shoot even par or better in all three rounds.Â
Robards finished the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with the third-most pars of 81 competitors (40) and Gutierrez maintained the fifth-best stroke average (2.83) on all Par 3s.
Mercer finishes its regular season at the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The 54-hole event is scheduled to begin on April 12 and will end on April 14. After the Wofford Invitational, the Bears will head to Columbia, South Carolina, for the Southern Conference Championship from April 27-29.
