Men’s Golf Set To Compete In Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

MACON – One of the biggest honors in collegiate golf. Being chosen to help kick off the start of Master's week. The Mercer men's golf team will compete on one of the biggest stages of collegiate golf at Forest Hills Golf Club for the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on April 4 and 5.

Format: 54 Holes | 36 Holes (Rounds 1 & 2) on Saturday – 18 Holes (Round 3) on Sunday

"This is one of the biggest tournaments in college golf," said head coach Jason Payne. "We are looking to compete against one of the best fields at the collegiate level all year. It truly is special to compete in Augusta to kick off Master's week, and we look forward to showing off our program on a big stage."
After playing three tournaments within a span of two weeks, Mercer has been able to spend the last two weeks practicing and preparing for the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. The Bears played three events in March and racked up a third-place finish at the Southern Intercollegiate, fourth-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate and a ninth-place finish at the 20th Annual Linger Longer Invitational.
Henry Robards headlined the Bears at the Linger Longer by finishing 16th individually with a score of four under par. Throughout the 54-hole event, Robards maintained the fourth-best scoring average on all Par 3s and made the seventh-most birdie putts out of 106 competitors.Â
