Katie Scheck Named SoCon Women's Golfer of the Week

MACON, Ga. - Mercer women's golfer Katie Scheck was named the SoCon Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 24-30 as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Scheck and the Bears competed in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado last week where Scheck finished tied for 12th among the 100 golfers competing at 4-under, 212 for the tournament. She carded a season low round of 68 (-4) in her second round on Tuesday. Her second round of 68 was tied for the second lowest score in the field for the day. Scheck carded rounds of 73 (+1), 68 (-4), and 71 (-1).

Up next for Scheck and the Bears is the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate from Knoxville, Tennesse on Oct. 5-7.
