Padio, Stefanovic Head To The Battle On The Plains

MACON – Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Nemanja Stefanovic will offer a sidebar to action for the Mercer tennis program this weekend when the senior duo travels to Auburn, Ala., for The Battle On The Plains.

The event will include 32 pairs competing as teams, with one doubles match followed by two singles matches. The winner of at least two of the three matches will advance in its respective draw. Each flight will crown a team champion, and every pair will play four matchups across the weekend.

Padio and Stefanovic will be joined by players from North Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Southern, Ole Miss, Samford, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, South Alabama, Troy, UAB, Louisiana, Clemson, The Citadel, Lipscomb, Memphis and Alabama State.

The first round, along with the doubles portion of the second round, will be played Friday. The singles portion of the second round and all third-round matches will take place Saturday. The fourth and final round will be played Sunday. Matches each day will begin at 10 a.m. ET.

Padio and Stefanovic will open up action at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Friday at 10 a.m. when the tandem takes to the doubles courts to battle Auburn's duo of Joey Phillips and Thomas Kennedy. Stefanovic will take on Phillips in singles action at approximately 10:30 a.m., while Padio will break off to go head-to-head with Kennedy.
