MACON – Head coach Craig Gibson and the Mercer baseball team revealed their opponents for the 2026 season Monday afternoon. There will be 31 games at OrthoGeorgia Park.
The Bears open the season with a weekend series against the Troy Trojans on February 13-15. The next four matchups will remain in Macon including a midweek contest between in-state rival Georgia State, two Ivy League giants (Columbia and Penn) and familiar foe Florida A&M.
March is filled with a variety of different road contests for the Bears. For the 7th year in a row, Mercer takes on Florida State in Tallahassee, Florida on March 4. The Bears have taken down the ranked Seminoles the previous two seasons 9-3 and 13-6, respectively.
Towards the end of March, Mercer embarks on a journey to Corvallis, Oregon. The three-game series from March 27-29 against Oregon State will be the first meeting between the two programs. The Beavers finished 48-16-1 and made a trip to the College World Series before falling just short of a trip to the finals.
In April, Mercer plays nine of its 16 games in front of the home crowd. In-state rivals, University of West Georgia and Georgia Southern, join Towson and Alabama State as the home non-conference opponents heading into May.Â
The Bears play just three of its seven conference series at home. Mercer opens Southern Conference play on March 20 against The Citadel. Wofford and VMI round out the remainder of the Bears' SoCon opponents at
OrthoGeorgia Park while UNC Greensboro, Western Carolina, Samford and ETSU make up the rest of the SoCon slate.
After concluding the regular season with the defending SoCon champions, Mercer travels to Greenville, South Carolina, for the SoCon tournament. The conference tournament is scheduled to begin on May 20 at Flour Field.
