
Mercer Falls On The Road To Clemson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Mercer women's tennis team dropped its match at Clemson, 7-0 Friday evening in Clemson, South Carolina.
The morning got started with doubles matches where Clemson's Amelie Smejkalova and Gaia Parravicini defeated Mercer's Marie Bannmeyer and Dzhastina Mikhnova, 6-1. The Tigers would then clinch the doubles point on court two where the Tigers' Romana Cisovska and Candela Yecora defeated Marina de Diego Quinones and Ines Hömberg, 6-3.
The last doubles match went unfinished on court three where Clemson's Annabelle Davis and Sophia Hatton held a 5-3 lead over Jelena Gojkovic and Tea Zivic.
Clemson's Candela Yecora won the first singles point for the Tigers on court six when she defeated Kennedi Jones 6-0, 6-0. On court five, Gaia Parravicini of Clemson defeated Jelena Gojkovic, 6-0, 6-2 to give Clemson a 3-0 lead.
Florida State's Artemis Aslanisvili clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Marie Bannmeyer. On court one Clemson's Amelie Smejkalova defeated Marina de Diego Quinones, 6-0, 6-3.
Romana Cisovska of Clemson defeated Dzhastina Mikhnova, 6-3, 6-0. The last match two finish was on court three where Clemson's Annabelle Davis defeated Tea Zivic, 6-2, 6-2.
Next up for Mercer is a match against Army on Sunday, Feb. 16 in Columbus, Georgia at Columbus State University. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
