Glus and Casey Named Big South Players of the Week

MACON, Ga. - Mercer women's lacrosse attacker Caroline Glus was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week and goalie Kayla Casey was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week for the week of March 10-16 as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

Both Glus and Casey played key roles in Mercer's upset win on the road over No. 9 Clemson.

Against the Tigers, Glus had four goals and one assist to pace the Bears offensively. She scored all four of her goals in less than a seven minute span in the first quarter. Last Saturday, against No. 6 Florida, Glus scored four more goals and earned her 100th career point in the game.

Casey recorded a career high 12 saves with a 54.5 save percentage in an all-around great defensive effort by the Bears' defensive unit in the win over Clemson. Casey and the Bears held Clemson to just 10 goals, at the time, their second fewest goals scored in a game all season.

Mercer has some time off before its next game scheduled for Wednesday, March 26 when Jacksonville makes the trip up to Macon. First draw is set for 3 p.m. from Five Star Stadium.
