Harris Logs Top-10 Finish At 49ers Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Nikki Harris logged a time of 17:23.06 on the way to registering a 7^th-place finish in the invitational portion of the 5000m Run to highlight action for the Mercer track & field team at the Charlotte-hosted 49er Classic on Friday evening.

The performance marked the career debut in the event for Harris who was joined in the top 20 by two of her teammates. Senior Olivia Jones tacked up a personal-best 17:51.95 and a 16^th place finish, while freshman Abbie Kallbreier was 20^th with a mark of 18:13.85.

Mercer logged an entry into just one other event on Day 1 action at Charlotte's Irwin Belk Track & Field Center. Freshman Emily Ireland posted a 62^nd place finish to wrap up Friday competition for the Bears who will continue action in the Charlotte 49er Classic on Saturday.
