Väistö and Dubnik In Top 10 Heading Into Final Round In Hawaii

Emilia Väistö is tied for third and Mikayla Dubnik is tied for seventh
MAUI, HAWAII - Emilia Väistö and Mikayla Dubnik each carded second rounds of 1-under, 71 and are in the top 10 heading into the final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational from Royal Kā'anapali Golf Course in Maui, Hawaii.
As a team, the Bears didn't quite have the same great round they did on Monday as Mercer finished the second round with a 4-over, 292. For the tournament the Bears are in sixth place at even par, 576 in the 17-team field. Washington went really low on Tuesday with a round of 15-under, 273 to take a nine shot lead at 18-under par for the tournament, into the final round on Wednesday.
Väistö is in a tie for third place after her round of 71 on Tuesday. She is at 5-under par and four shots back of the co-leaders who are at 9-under par for the tournament.
Väistö has just two bogeys through her first 36 holes which is tied for the second fewest bogeys among the 98 players competing. She has been one of the best players on the par 3's and 4's so far as she is tied with Dubnik for the best score on the par 3's at 2-under par and is 4-under par on the par 4's which is tied for the third best score on them.
Dubnik is one shot back of Väistö and is tied for seventh at 4-under par for the tournament. She had a 34 on the front nine in her second round on Tuesday.
As a team Mercer has the third most pars in the field with 120 and second fewest bogeys with just 27.
The final round begins Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. local (2 p.m. ET) via a shotgun start.
