
Mercer Primed For Non-Conference Game At Home Against Jacksonville

MACON, Ga. - After an 11-day hiatus without a game, the Mercer women's lacrosse team is back in action at home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. when the Jacksonville Dolphins visit Macon.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's game will be the eighth all-time meeting between Mercer and Jacksonville. The Dolphins have won all seven of the previous meetings between the two teams. The last game between Mercer and Jacksonville was in 2021 when Jacksonville defeated the Bears, 20-6 in Macon.
LAST TIME OUT
Caroline Glus scored four goals for the third consecutive game, but Mercer dropped a 22-9 contest to No. 6 Florida at home back on March 15.
Florida led 9-5 at halftime and used a big third quarter in which they outscored the Bears, 8-1 to take control of the game. Shots were 37-18, Florida and shots on goal were 29-15, Florida.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
Jacksonville is 4-4 so far on the season. The Dolphins are coming off a dominant 18-3 win over a conference opponent and in-state foe in Stetson.
Jacksonville started the season 0-4, but have since picked up four straight wins including a win over then No. 18 Navy. The Dolphins were picked to finish second in the Preseason ASUN Coaches Poll behind Coastal Carolina.
This season, Jacksonville is averaging 11.1 goals per game. The Dolphins are allowing just 9.3 goals per game defensively which leads the ASUN and ranks tied for 14th nationally. Jacksonville has been especially stingy defensively in the fourth quarter as they are allowing an average of just two goals per game in the fourth quarter.
Jacksonville is led offensively by freshman attacker Shae Hagans who has a team leading 16 goals and 21 points on the year.
The expected starting goalie for the Dolphins is Brookelynn Hodgin who owns a solid 9.1 goals against average with a 48.8 save percentage.
