ATLANTA – Senior Nikki Harris registered a personal-best time of 4:32.35 on the way to a third-place finish in the 1500m Run, while two of her teammates registered Top-10 showings as well, to peak action for the Mercer track & field team on opening-day action at the Emory Thrills In The Hills Open on Friday.

Harris bested her previous best time in the 1500m Run by more than 13 seconds to out-pace 20 other competitors in the event. Olivia Jones (11:34.75) and Abbie Kallbreier (11:59.42) finished third and fifth, respectively, amid their collegiate debuts in the 3000m Steeplechase to lead the Orange & Black as well.

Mercer will wrap up competition at the two-day event with a pair of races on Saturday at the Woodruff PE Center Stadium.
