Harris Busts School Record For Second-Straight Day

ATLANTA – Senior Nikki Harris continued her assault on school records on Saturday afternoon at the Emory Thrills In The Hills Open when the Ocala, Fla., native busted a 9-year-old program superlative in the 800m Run on the way to a sixth-place finish.

The Bears found entries in just two events on final-day action in northeast Atlanta. Freshman Emily Ireland (5:25.17) and senior Reese Robertson (5:25.61) crossed in 22^nd and 23^rd place, respectively, in the 1500m Run to cap Saturday's action for the Orange & Black.

Harris opened her record-breaking weekend on Friday when she took down a 13-year-old school record in the 1500m Run.

Mercer will be back in action again on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, when the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers head to central Alabama for the Troy-hosted Doc Anderson Multi & Invitational. MU's distance squad will compete again, April 11-12, at the Duke Invitational.
