
Mercer Gears Up For UC Davis Friday In Tempe

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team is set to play its second consecutive game out west in Tempe, Arizona this week as the Bears take on UC Davis Friday afternoon. First draw is set for 2 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT, from the campus of Arizona State.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be just the second all-time meeting between Mercer and UC Davis. The first all-time meeting between the two programs was in 2019 when UC Davis defeated Mercer 16-13 in Jacksonville, Florida.
LAST TIME OUT
Abby Morrison scored a hat trick, but the Mercer women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Arizona State, 16-10 Tuesday evening in Tempe, Arizona.
Arizona State took an early 4-0 lead, but Mercer battled back to get within two as the Sun Devils led 7-5. Arizona State was then able to find a way to earn the 16-10 win. Arizona State outshot Mercer, 37-29 and had a 26-22 shots on goal advantage in the game.
SCOUTING UC DAVIS
UC Davis is 1-4 so far on the season. The Aggies are coming off a tough 10-9 overtime loss at home to Villanova on Monday. UC Davis has two one-goal losses and its other two losses on the year came against nationally ranked opponents in No. 15 Stanford and No. 24 USC.
In the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll, UC Davis was picked to finish fifth in the 6-team, Big 12 Conference. The Aggies went 9-8 last season.
This season, UC Davis is averaging 10.6 goals per game and allowing 14.4 goals per game. Nearly 25 percent of the Aggies' goals this season have come from the 8-meter.
UC Davis is one of the better draw control teams in the Big 12 as they win 53.2 percent of its draw controls. The Aggies had three players named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team in attackers Alex Agnew, and Grace Gebhardt, and midfielder Ella Brislin.
Gebhardt leads UC Davis in goals with 13 and points with 16. Agnew is close behind with 15 points and leads the team with 10 assists on the year.
The expected starting goalie for the Aggies is senior Ally Richardson-Pepper who owns a 14.2 goals against average and a 39.0 save percentage.
