MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team treks to Louisville, Ky. for their ninth road contest of the season on Saturday to face Bellarmine at noon for another conference matchup.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 16th meeting between the Bears and the Knights stretching back to 2011 when the two teams met for the first time. Bellarmine leads the series 12-3, including a 17-9 win over the Bears the last time the two squads met on March 20, 2024 at Five Star Stadium. Mercer took back-to-back wins from the Knights in 2022 and 2023.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears battled against ASUN powerhouse, Utah, but ultimately fell to the Utes 16-10 in Salt Lake City. Eight different Bears found the back of the net against the Knights, including three back-to-back goals within the last two minutes of play in the second quarter.
Mercer was led by Luke Fox who recorded two goals and an assist. Dillon Bush added a goal of his own, reaching 25 goals on the season, sitting at third in the conference. The remaining goals came from Dylan McKelvy, Jack Sullivan, Will Zylstra, Michael Frederick, Ganon Cope, Christian Laureano and Christoper Cappelmann. Between the pipes for the Bears, Rand Paddack posted 18 saves on Utah's 34 shots on goal (.471) to keep the Utes within reach.

The Knights are led by Andrew Whitley who enters his sixth season at the helm for Bellarmine after leading the Knights to the ASUN Tournament for three straight seasons. The Knights finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 9-8 and a 5-4 record in the ASUN. Bellarmine currently sits with a record of 6-7 including a 0-2 record in the ASUN with losses against Utah and Air Force. The Knights have recorded 147 goals, 79 assists, 349 ground balls and 94 caused turnovers across 13 games.
The Knights have a powerhouse scoring duo in the Alie brothers. Junior attackman John Alie currently leads the conference in goals scored with 40, along with 22 assists and freshman attackman Joe Alie is second on the team with 25 goals and five assists on the season. The defense is held down by Christopher Reynolds and Matt Kirton who combined for 56 groundballs and 27 caused turnovers across 13 games. In goal for the Knights is Noal Hudnut with 153 saves (.525).
