MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team prepares to travel to Rock Rill, South Carolina to play Winthrop on Saturday. First draw is set for noon.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the ninth all-time meeting between Mercer and Winthrop. Mercer leads the series 5-3 and has won the last four games against the Eagles. Mercer defeated Winthrop last season, 22-5 in Macon.
LAST TIME OUT
Caroline Glus and Sofia D'Angelo combined to score 10 of Mercer's 16 goals as the Bears defeated High Point, 16-13 last Saturday from Five Star Stadium.
SCOUTING WINTHROP
Winthrop is 5-8 overall and 3-2 in the Big South. The Eagles' two conference losses were to Wofford and High Point.
Winthrop was picked to finish seventh out of nine teams in the Big South Preseason Coaches Poll.
Winthrop has relied mostly on its defense this season as the Eagles are allowing just 9.7 goals in conference play which is the third best mark in the league behind Mercer and High Point.
Winthrop is led offensively by attacker Scarelt Cifarelli who leads the team with 50 points (33G, 17A). She ranks fourth in the Big South in conference play with 5.4 points per game.
The expected starting goalie for the Eagles is Mikaylah Lindsay who owns a 14.9 goals against average with a 39.5 save percentage.
