
Men’s Tennis Battles UNC Greensboro At Home

MACON – The Mercer men's tennis team will commence its final season of regular season play on Sunday morning when the Bears suit up to host Southern Conference rival UNC Greensboro at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. First serves are scheduled for 11 a.m. and admission is free.

The Bears (9-6, 4-0 SoCon) will surf a five-match win streak into its home stadium on Sunday, including four-straight victories against league foes. The Spartans (8-11, 2-3) have faltered in two of their last three outings, including a 6-1 setback at Samford on March 29.

The Bears lead the all-time series, 8-1, and have captured each of the last two matchups, including a 6-1 triumph over the Spartans last season in Greensboro, N.C.

The Orange & Black is still led on the doubles court by junior tandem Amen Prince Gandonou and Hod'Abalo Isak Padio who have rattled off a 21-9 mark in doubles action this season, including a 9-5 clip during the spring dual meet season. Padio, who was named SoCon Player of the Week on Tuesday, has raked in 20 singles wins in his first season in the Orange & Black, including a team-best nine wins on the singles courts during the spring.

Junior Devon Moskowitz is 13-6 on the singles courts for UNC Greensboro in 2025, including a 12-6 mark in the No. 5 position on the starting lineup sheets. He has also teamed up with junior Andrew Black in compiling seven doubles wins, including five on Court No. 2.
