Men’s Tennis Has Three Lauded With Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, IND. – A phenomenal work ethic both on the court and in the classroom came to fruition on Thursday afternoon when three Mercer men's tennis players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Senior Tom Hagelauer joined juniors Amen Prince Gandonou and Hod'Abalo Isak Padio on the distinguished listing. It is the third-straight season that the Bears have sent multiple student-athletes to the recognition.
To receive academic all-district recognition, a tennis student-athlete must have at least a cumulative 3.50 grade point average as both an undergraduate and graduate student (if applicable) while competing in at least 90 percent or starting 66 percent of his team's matches for the season.
In addition to being named academic all-district, Gandonou and Padio are among a select group of all-district honorees that have advanced to the academic all-America ballot in recognition of their elite athletic and academic prowess.
The 2025 CSC Academic All-America Team is scheduled to be released later this month.
