Padio Advances At ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Hod'Abalo Isak Padio registered a dominant straight-sets victory to advance in the championship draw, while fellow senior Nemanja Stefanovic was relegated to the consolation draw with a tight loss on Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Padio made quick work of Memphis junior Obrad Markovski, yielding just four games on the way to a 6-3, 6-1 triumph. The Togo native will face third-seeded Derrick Chen, a graduate transfer (Cal) at Georgia, in Sunday's second round at 9 a.m. ET.

Stefanovic had his hands full with Arkansas sophomore Ben Weintraub before eventually dropping a tough 6-4, 6-4 decision. Stefanovic will battle Wichita State junior Alejandro Jacome in his consolation opener at 2:30 p.m.
