Bears Continue Road Trip At UNCG Saturday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team is back on the road in Lexington, Virginia to take on VMI Thursday night. Tip off is set for 4 p.m. inside First Horizon Coliseum

LAST TIME OUT
Armani Mighty turned in a monster double-double with 18 points and 25 rebounds to lead Mercer to a 77-67 win at VMI Thursday night from Cameron Hall in Lexington, Virginia.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 27th all-time meeting between Mercer and UNCG. UNCG leads the all-time series 14-12. The two teams split their two meetings last year with each team winning on the road.

NEED TO KNOW
Saturday's game will feature the top two players in the conference in rebounding in UNCG's Justin Neely (11.6 rpg) and Mercer's Armani Mighty (10.3 rpg).

SCOUTING UNCG
UNCG enters Saturday's game with a 7-11 overall record and 3-2 record in conference play. The Spartans were picked to finish fifth in the Preseason SoCon Coaches Poll.

UNCG is coming off a 69-66 overtime win at home over The Citadel on Thursday. All three of the Spartans' conference wins have been at home where UNCG has played much better. The Spartans are 5-3 at home and just 1-5 on the road.

UNCG is tied for fourth in the conference in scoring at 77.7 points per game and ninth in scoring defense as opponents are scoring 79.5 points game. The Spartans are the best three-point shooting team in the SoCon at 35.4 percent.

UNCG's leading scorer is forward Justin Neely who ranks eighth in the conference with 16.3 points per game. Neely also leads the conference in rebounding at 11.6 rebounds per game.
