Glus and Walters Earn Big South Preseason Player of the Year Honors

MACON, Ga. -Â The Mercer women's lacrosse team was named 2026 preseason favorites to win the Big South Conference as voted by all nine head coaches in the conference.
In addition to being named to the Preseason All-Conference Team, senior attacker Caroline Glus and junior midfielder Ansley Walters each earned Preseason Player of the Year recognition. Glus was named the Big South Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Walters was named the Big South Preseason Midfielder of the Year.
This is the first Big South Preseason Player of the Year recognition for Glus and second consecutive season Walters was named the Big South Preseason Midfielder of the Year. Last year, Glus and Walters were named First Team All-Conference selections after helping lead the Bears to their fourth straight Big South regular season title.
The Preseason All-Conference Team is comprised of 12 total players consisting of three attackers, three midfielders, three defenders, one goalie, and two at-large selections.
