Scheck Wins College Tour X Florida Winter Amateur

Scheck won by five strokes and finished at 2-under par

ST. CLOUD, Fla. - On Monday, Mercer's Katie Scheck won the College Tour X Women's Winter Amateur from Royal St. Cloud Golf Club in St. Cloud, Florida.

Scheck finished the 54-hole tournament at 2-under, 214, five shots ahead of the runner-up from Arkansas State, Morgan Beaulieu. Scheck started the tournament with her best round on Saturday with a 3-under, 69. In her next two rounds she finished with a 2-over, 74 and a 1-under, 71. Scheck was the only golfer in the field to have two rounds under par.

"The win means a lot to me," said Scheck. "I felt like my game was in a really good place all week, and I trusted what I was doing out there. I drove the ball really well and my putting was solid, which allowed me to stay aggressive for most of the tournament."

"Even when I had to play a little defense, I was able to manage it in a way that kept me in position. Overall, I gave myself plenty of opportunities to score, and it was rewarding to see that translate to a win."
