Â
Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. Monday's tilt is part of a morning/night basketball doubleheader in Hawkins Arena with the Mercer men also slated to open up their season in an 11 a.m. contest against Reinhardt.
Â
The Bears return a pair of starters and one other letterwinner off of last season's 17-win squad, including guard Abigail Holtman who averaged 9.3 points and 3.8 rebounds an outing across 26 games. Fellow senior Micah O'Dell, a 22-game starter for the Orange & Black last season, also returns after posting 9.0 points and 3.1 rebounds an outing in 2025-26. The trio will be joined on the hardwood by five freshmen and five transfer scholar-athletes.
Â
North Greenville returns four starters from its 9-19 squad last season, including senior center Maliyiah Mason who averaged nearly 13 points and 7.0 rebounds an outing in 2025-26 while shooting an impressive 46.4 percent from the field. The Trailblazers will complement their four returning starters with eight other returning letterwinners as well.
Â
Monday's outing will mark the first of two home games for the Bears this week. Mercer will take on in-state rival Georgia Southern on Thursday in Hawkins Arena as well. Tipoff for that contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
