
Maldonado Named Big South Offensive Player Of The Week

MACON, Ga. - Mercer women's lacrosse attacker Maya Maldonado was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
It is the first Player of the Week recognition for Maldonado in her career. The Bears have now had a player earn Big South Offensive Player of the Week for each of the first two weeks of the season after Caroline Glus won the award last week.
In Mercer's game at Vanderbilt on Thursday, Feb. 12, Maldonado led Mercer with a career high four points on two goals and two assists. For the second consecutive game, Maldonado scored the first goal of the game for the Bears. She scored her second goal of the game at te 13:38 mark of the second quarter. Her two assists came in a three minute stretch in the third quarter.
Maldonado and the Bears will head to Tampa, Florida to play USF on Saturday, Feb. 21. First draw is at noon.
