Mercer Hosts Bears Beach Bash On Friday, Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer beach volleyball team will make its long-anticipated home debut on Friday and Saturday on campus when the Bears suit up to host their annual Bears Beach Bash. The 4-team round-robin tournament is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, and admission to all matches is free.

Fans unable to make the trip to Macon can still follow all of the matches in progress for free via live statistics links provided by the MU athletics department.

The Bears will open up their portion of action on Friday at 8 a.m. when they face Palm Beach Atlantic on Bear Beach, and will wrap up Day 1 play with a 2 p.m. matchup against the UT Martin Skyhawks.

Mercer will return for Day 2 of competition on Saturday to tangle with Huntingdon at 12:30 p.m. after the senior ceremony that will take place at 12 p.m. The Bears will wrap up play at the Bears Beach Bash with an inner-city matchup against Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m.

Following this weekend's events, the Bears will take a two-week hiatus from competition before returning back to Macon to host the Sun Belt Mid-Year Weekend Tournament at Bear Beach from March 27 to March 28.
