Robards’ Dominant Display Earns SoCon Golfer Of The Week Honors

MACON – After finishing the 20th annual Linger Longer Invitational as the Mercer Bears' leading scorer, the Southern Conference announced Henry Robards as the conference's Golfer of the Week this afternoon.

Robards, a sophomore from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, finished tied for 16th individually while maintaining the fourth-best scoring average across all Par 3s throughout the 54-hole event. Robards opened the tournament with a five-under 67 with nine birdies on the day before shooting a 72 and a 73 in the next wo rounds to finish four under across three rounds.

There was a loaded field of 106 competitors including nine of the top 100 players in the nation with six schools ranked in the top 50. Robards carded more birdies than 94 of them and led the Bears to a ninth-place finish of 17 total teams.

With this recognition, Robards became the first member of the Mercer men's golf team to be named SoCon Golfer of the Week since Tobias Jonsson on April 10, 2024.
