Beach Bears Set To Host Sun Belt Mid-Year Weekend Friday, Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer beach volleyball team will host the Sun Belt Mid-Year Weekend at Bear Beach on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 in Macon, following a two-week hiatus.

Mercer (4-12) is scheduled for four matches across the two-day event in Middle Georgia. The Bears will open their portion of round-robin play on Friday morning (11:15 a.m. ET) against Southern Miss (7-14) and will close out Day 1 play with a matchup against the College of Charleston (5-13) at 1:30 p.m.

The Bears will close out the Sun Belt Mid-Year Weekend on Saturday with a 11:15 a.m. contest against UNC Wilmington (7-13) and a 3:45 p.m. match with Coastal Carolina (11-10).

Prior to its two-week hiatus, Mercer hosted its annual Bears Beach Bash on March 13-14, finishing with a 2-2 record on the weekend. The Bears' two victories came on Day 2 of play against Huntingdon and Wesleyan, defeating both teams 5-0. Jordyn Thomas-Warren and Maggie Forsyth went undefeated on the weekend to highlight Mercer's play.

Following this weekend's action in Macon, the Bears will make the short trip to Atlanta for the GSU Diggin' Duals at the Georgia State Beach Volleyball Complex from April 3-4.
