Lambert Tabbed Southern Conference Pitcher Of The Week

MACON – After throwing the best game of his young career, Garrett Lambert was named the Southern Conference's Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Lambert earned his third win of the season after a dominant outing against Towson this past Friday. The redshirt freshman tied his career high of nine strikeouts in six shutout innings of two-hit baseball as the Bears won 9-1 in the series opener.

Lambert struck out six Tigers through the first two innings and only allowed one baserunner through the first three innings. Lambert attacked the strikezone throughout his entire outing with 59 of his 75 pitches being thrown for strikes.

Friday's outing is the third time that Lambert has reached his career high of nine strikeouts since setting it on February 27, 2026 against Penn.

Through 40 games, Lambert leads the Bears with 53 strikeouts and a 4.20 ERA across 45.0 innings of work.

The Mercer baseball team is back in action on Tuesday, April 21 against Alabama State (20-18, 10-8 SWAC) at OrthoGeorgia Park.
