
Women's Lacrosse Looks To Win Outright Big South Title On Senior Day

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team prepares to host Longwood on Saturday afternoon from Five Star Stadium. First draw is set for 11 a.m.
It is the last regular season game and Senior Day. Mercer's 11 seniors will be recognized in a pregame ceremony. With a win, Mercer would win the outright Big South regular season title.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the eighth all-time meeting between Mercer and Longwood. Mercer leads the series, 5-2, including a 19-1 win last year in Farmville, Virginia.
LAST TIME OUT
Visiting Mercer got a career day from senior Sofia D'Angelo and broke open an otherwise close game with nine goals in the second quarter as the Bears clinched at least a share of the Big South regular season title with a dominant 17-2 rout of Wofford on Wednesday afternoon at Gibbs Stadium.
SCOUTING LONGWOOD
Longwood enters Saturday's game with a 7-8 overall record and 2-5 record in Big South play. The Lancers are coming off a 9-8 home loss to Radford on Wednesday. Longwood is just 1-5 on the road this season.
In conference games, Longwood ranks sixth in the Big South in goals per game at 8.7 per game. Defensively, Longwood ranks seventh in the Big South in scoring defense at 13.4 goals allowed per game. In Big South games, the Lancers average 12.7 caused turnovers per game which ranks second in the league. Longwood has struggled in the draw circle where the ranks second to last in the conference with just 9.3 draws per game.
Sophomore midfielder Madison Rodgers leads the Lancers in points (40) and goals (34). No one else on the team has more than 15 goals on the season.
Senior goalie Isabella McCullough has started 13 games in goal for the Lancers. She owns a .468 save percentage and has a 14.1 goals against average.
