CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Mercer women's tennis team dropped its match to Chattanooga, 6-1, Wednesday afternoon from the UTC Tennis Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In doubles, Chattanooga's Ella Mancuso and Emma Pedretti defeated Marie Bannmeyer and Antonia Schweigel, 6-0 on court three. Jordan Fenton and Addison Iacono clinched the doubles point for the Mocs on court two with a 6-1 win over Tea Zivic and Sofiya Tsitavets. The match on court one was close, but Chattanooga's Rufaro Magarira and Savannah Presson won 6-4, over Marina de Diego Quinones and Ines Hömberg.

In singles action, Sofiya Tsitavets won the first match for the Bears on court three where she defeated Chattanooga's Savannah Presson, 6-3, 6-1. Chattanooga's
Rufaro Magarira defeated Tea Zivic, 6-4, 6-0 on court two.

On court one, Addison Iacono of Chattanooga picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Marina de Diego Quinones to give the Mocs a 3-1 lead. Emma Pedretti clinched the match for the Mocs with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Marie Bannmeyer on court four.

In the final two singles matches, Chattanooga's Jordan Fenton defeated Ines Hömberg, 7-6(3), 6-2. The match on court six went three sets where ultimately, Chattanooga's
Ella Mancuso was able to defeat Antonia Schweigel, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-6).

Mercer will play its final road match of the season on Friday, April 10 when the Bears head to Spartanburg, South Carolina to play Wofford. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
