Joshua Huff joined the Mercer staff as a strength and conditioning coach in June 2021.
Prior to Mercer, Huff worked as his alma mater, James Madison University, where he served as a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach for six months. Huff assisted with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for sports including football, women’s lacrosse, swim and dive, and women’s and men’s tennis. Huff worked directly with the Associate Director to implement a Return-to-Play program for players with ACL injury. He also designed a Return-to-Play program for athletes recovering from various injuries.
From Jan. 2020 until March 2020, Huff worked as the football strength and conditioning intern at the University of Virginia. He personalized the Return-to-Play program for each individual athlete while assisting with the football strength and conditioning program.
For two years (May 2019 – May 2021), Huff served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for Wilson Memorial High School football following the completion of his accredited practicum. While at Wilson Memorial, Huff designed the in-season strength and conditioning program and was responsible for the implementation of the off-season strength and conditioning program for the football team.
Huffed earned his bachelors from James Madison University in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science in 2020.
