Matthew Miller enters his third season with Mercer women's volleyball as a graduate assistant in 2023.
Miller, a native of Roselle, Illinois, is a Mercer University and Loyola University Chicago alum. He graduated from Mercer University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Miller is currently pursuing his master's degree in Business Administration.
Miller began working with Mercer women's volleyball in 2019 as a practice player, before becoming a graduate assistant during the 2021 season.
Miller has been a part of successful seasons with the team. He was a part of the 2020 spring season when Mercer won its first ever regular season conference championship. In the SoCon tournament, the Bears made it to the SoCon championship before falling short to Samford.
In the fall of 2021, Mercer again won the SoCon regular season title as back-to-back conference champions.
Miller has coaching experience in volleyball outside of Mercer as he has coached club at Tsunami Volleyball for five years and he has spent three years of coaching AAU teams at the Volleyball Junior National Championships.
As a student at Loyola University Chicago, Miller played on the club volleyball team from 2016-2018.
Miller graduated from Lake Park High School in 2016. He was on the men's volleyball team at Lake Park that had back-to-back top-10 IHSA state finishes.
Matt's parents are Jackie and Derick Miller. He has one sister, Kelly.
