This is Maxwell's first season with the Bears. Maxwell comes from Lubbock after two years as a graduate assistant at Texas State where she helped the Bobcats to back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
While on staff for the Bobcats, Maxwell was part of two 20+ win seasons, including a 31-win season in 2020, the most wins at Texas State since 1985. The Bobcats advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in the spring after defeating Utah Valley in the first round. During her first season as a graduate assistant in 2019, Maxwell helped the Bobcats complete a 14-2 record in conference play capped off by a conference tournament championship.  In addition to her time as a graduate assistant, Maxwell spent time as a club volleyball coach with TopFlight Volleyball and United Volleyball.  A native of Garland, Texas, Maxwell received her bachelor’s degree in general studies with a minor in exercise sports science, psychology and leadership studies from Texas State in 2018. She graduated with her master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in strength and conditioning and sports coaching in 2021.
