Men's Tennis Clinches Spot in A-Sun Tournament

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Mercer University men's tennis team clinched a berth in the Atlantic Sun tournament despite losing to East Tennessee State University by a score of 7-0 at the Dave Mullin's Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Although Mercer (9-16, 3-5 A-Sun) was beaten in straight sets by East Tennessee State (12-8, 7-0 A-Sun), they earned a spot in the conference tournament for the first time since 2011.
The Bears will be the No. 6 seed in the tournament and will play the No. 3 seed Florida Gulf Coast next Thursday. The match will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the host site of North Florida University.
