Bears Fall To Furman In Conference Opener

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Mercer men's soccer team dropped its Southern Conference opener, 1-0, to Furman at Stone Stadium in Greenville, South Carolina, on Saturday afternoon.
The Paladins scored the lone goal of Saturday's match in the 42nd minute. Wilfer Bustamante scored for the first time in a Furman uniform on a penalty.
Mercer fired three of its five shots on target and Henry Hampshaw saved five of the Paladins' six attempts on goal. AJ Pama and Manza Masamuna were Mercer's only two field players to complete all 90 minutes.
