CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The freshman was on fire Monday for Mercer, or at least he was after he warmed up. Kiko Rosete – after shooting 5-over in his first eight holes Monday – was 6-under-par (66) and did not card a bogey in the second round as the rookie leads the individual leaderboard entering the final round at the F&M Bank Intercollegiate hosted by Austin Peay.
Rosete, playing as an individual, is 5-under-par overall after a 1-over 73 opening round.
Despite Rosete's scorecard not counting towards the team total, Mercer is still in second place overall only six strokes back of Missouri State.

COACH KAYDEN'S COMMENTS
On Kiko Rosete's performance:
"Kiko played phenomenal in the second round. He didn't have a single bogey and shot 66 in in the afternoon and he leads the field as an individual. That's pretty impressive for a freshman. We're trying to get some experience for him as playing as an individual helps that."
On Monday's 36-holes:
The guys have put us in a good position going into the final round. We definitely have a chance tomorrow, we just have to be strong both mentally and physically and focus on the things that we can control.
On Tuesday's final round:
"I am looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what we can do. The guys just need to bring a lot of energy to the golf course. We need to manage this course very well tomorrow, it is playing fast and firm out there. We need to land it short of the pin on a lot of our approach shots and let it release to the hole. That will be very important. Our par 5 play tomorrow needs to be very good."
TUESDAY PAIRINGS
Mercer will tee off Tuesday's shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on holes 1-5 and the Bears will be paired with Missouri State and UT Martin. Competing as an individual, Kiko Rosete will start on Hole No. 14 and will be paired with Alvaro Hernandez (Eastern Illinois) and Parker Buck (Belmont), who is currently tied for second just three strokes behind Rosete.
