
Pro Bear Update: Ranjitsingh Reaches New Deal with Louisville City

Former Mercer standout will return for third season with the club
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Former Mercer goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh has agreed to a new contract with Louisville City FC to remain with the club for a third season, as announced by the United Soccer League (USL) club in a release Tuesday morning.

A 2015 Mercer graduate, Ranjitsingh owns school records for clean sheets (27) and goals against average (.926) while ranking third in saves (363). As a senior in the 2014 season, he led the Southern Conference in total saves (106) and save percentage (.841), which ranked third and ninth in the nation, respectively. He was additionally named SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year in his final campaign, helping Mercer earn the conference regular season title in its first year as a league member.

The Pickering, Ontario, native signed with Louisville in 2015 as a rookie and has remained with the club ever since. He took over the starting role in May 2015 and started his professional career with five straight clean sheets to solidify the job. Ranjitsingh has since established himself as one of the league's top keepers, with a .725 save percentage and 0.83 goals against average in his second season. His play helped Louisville to a second-place finish in the regular-season standings this past season.

Ranjitsingh was selected to train with the Trinidad & Tobago national team for the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers in September, becoming the club's first full international call up.

The former Bear's focus will surely shift to Stone Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina on Thursday as his former team (13-6-1) prepares to face South Carolina (10-7-1) in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
