Junior striker named to the online publication’s Third Team
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Mercer junior forward Will Bagrou continued his postseason awards haul as he was named an All-American by College Soccer News on Saturday, Dec. 19, marking his second All-America nod of the season.
Â
Bagrou earned All-America Third Team honors by the online publication, following his recognition by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as a second teamer a week prior. He is the first player in program history to receive All-America honors from any organization.
Â
The Dacula, Georgia, product is the lone Southern Conference player to be recognized on any of College Soccer News' three All-America teams. A MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and the SoCon Player of the Year, Bagrou totaled 20 points on eight goals and four assists while leading the Bears to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 15 years.
Â
The striker's offensive work championed a Mercer unit that owned six of the 10 fastest goals scored by a SoCon player; Bagrou was responsible for two of the top-three (0:26 and 1:30). He additionally notched a pair of two-goal performances and two game-winning goals this fall.
