
Mercer Earns Votes in College Soccer News’ Final Poll

Following program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After making a run to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 15 years, the Mercer men's soccer team earned votes in the Top-30 Season-Ending National Poll by College Soccer News on Monday afternoon.

Mercer was one of 11 programs just outside of the top-30 that earned votes in the online publication's national poll, which is released on a weekly basis. The Bears finished 13-7-1 to cap one of the most successful seasons in program history with an NCAA Tournament berth following their first Southern Conference Tournament title. No other team in the state of Georgia earned a vote in the national poll, while ETSU joined Mercer just outside of the top-30 as the only SoCon members.

The 13 wins were tied for the second-most in program history while Mercer led the SoCon and ranked 41st nationally in goals against average (0.93). The Bears also ranked second in the conference and 34th nationally in total goals (33) as they netted six of the 10 fastest goals by SoCon players.

Multiple Bears earned individual honors throughout the campaign, highlighted by Will Bagrou being named a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, NSCAA All-American and the SoCon Player of the Year. Among other awards gathered, two Bears – Ian Antley and Jordan Duru – earned NSCAA All-South Region nods and Conner Antley joined the trio on the All-SoCon First Team. Jeremy Booth was additionally named the SoCon Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Since joining the SoCon in 2014, Mercer has the most total wins (38) and the best winning percentage (.645) among all league members.
