2017 Men’s Soccer Winter ID Camp Announced

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer program and the Mercer Boys Soccer Academy will host the 2017 Winter ID Camp on Saturday, January 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bear Field, head coach Brad Ruzzo announced Thursday.

Ruzzo and assistant coaches Emmett Rutkowski and Marcus Aldaba will be the primary instructors along with current players from the 2016 Southern Conference Championship team.

Prospective players from grades 9-12, as well as junior college players, are encouraged to attend. Both field players and goalkeepers will have the opportunity to partake in specialized training sessions and gain excellent experience in a university setting.

The Bears are coming off of one of the most successful seasons in program history, going 13-7-1 en route to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 15 years. Mercer captured its first-ever SoCon Tournament title and had seven players earn all-conference honors, including Player of the Year Will Bagrou. The junior striker is additionally one of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is considered to be collegiate soccer's highest honor.
