Men's Soccer to Battle Bucs in SoCon Semifinals

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Soccer will take on top-seeded ETSU tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the Southern Conference Tournament Semifinals. The contest will be played at Stone Soccer Stadium on the campus of Furman in Greenville, S.C.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer currently leads the all-time series against ETSU, 7-5-3. However, the Bucs claimed the season series against the Bears winning the second match, 1-0. The two SoCon competitors drew with a 0-0 tie in Johnson City, Tenn.

Mercer most recently defeated Wofford by the final score of 2-1 in the SoCon quarterfinals on Nov. 4 at Bear Field.

ETSU enters tomorrow's match winners of four of its last five contests. Most recently, the Bucs defeated Wofford by the final score of 4-1 to claim the 2017 SoCon Regular Season Title and the top seed in the conference championship on Oct. 28. ETSU has only dropped two matches all season with its last loss on Sept. 20 at George Mason, 3-1. Danny Barlow leads the team in points with 12 on five goals and two assists, while Bruno Andrade paces the squad in assists with five. Jonny Sutherland has allowed just 14 goals this season, notching 60 saves and a goals-against-average of 0.76.
