Mercer Sweeps Georgia Southwestern, 7-0

MACON, Ga. – Mercer picked up its second win of the weekend with a 7-0 win over Georgia Southwestern on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears started strong, winning all three doubles pairings to take the point and a 1-0 lead. Marie Mottet finished first in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win, followed by Katia Stavroulaki with a 6-1, 6-2 win at flight one.

Katie Sidor clinched the match for the Bears with a 6-0, 6-1 win at flight three. Grace Korta followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at flight two as Mercer went up 5-0. Andrea Peteu won 6-2, 6-0 at flight five and Christie Cesarini picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (8-10), 1-0 win at flight six to wrap up the match and complete the sweep, 7-0.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Katie Sidor once again went 2-0 on the day with wins at singles and doubles. She also clinched the match for Mercer.

Next up, Mercer will host Samford on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. as the Bears look for their second SoCon win of the season.
