MACON, Ga. – Mercer is closing out its three-match home stand on Wednesday when the Bears host Samford at 2:30 p.m.

Mercer is 9-5 on the year and has opened Southern Conference play with a 1-1 mark. The Bears are also 7-0 this year at home, including a 6-1 win over Western Carolina.

Katia Stavroulaki leads Mercer with an 8-3 record in singles play, followed by Katie Sidor, who has gone 9-4 overall and 9-3 at flight three. Haley Powell is 5-4 this season and Marie Mottet is 6-6, including a 6-5 mark at flight four. In doubles play, Stavroulaki and Grace Korta are 7-5 at flight one, while Mottet and Powell are 4-4 at flight three.

Annika Hepp leads Samford with a 10-4 mark in singles, which includes a 5-2 record at flight five. Ellie Gerlach is 7-6 on the season and 3-2 at flight one. Elsa Pool is 8-6 on the year, winning at flights two and three for the Bulldogs. In doubles, Hepp and Pool are the most successful pairing with a 4-2 record thus far.
