Mercer Men Jump Two Spots on Final Day in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Mercer improved its score in each consecutive round and moved up two spots in the final round as the Bears finished seventh at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate Tuesday.
The Orange and Black edged Drake by one stroke, finishing at 47-over-par. Kiko Rosete led the Bears on the final day and finished tied for 14th overall at 7-over-par (223).

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
The Bears overtook both Drake and St. Bonaventure on the final day, the two teams Mercer was paired with in the final round. Mercer (+47) edged Drake (+48) by one stroke and St. Bonaventure (+50) by three and fell 10 strokes shy of Loyola – Maryland (+37). Richmond won the team title at 7-over-par.
MERCER ON THE INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
With an even-par final round, Kiko Rosete jumped seven spots to finish tied for 14th on the individual leaderboard. Jerry Ren rose one spot from 20th to a tie for 19th behind a 4-over-par final round, finishing 10-over-par (226) for the tournament. Richmond's Keegan Hoff was the medalist with a 4-under-par 212 for the tournament.
COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"Our play was improved overall today. It is important as we move forward to count scores 76 and under when the course conditions are difficult, like they were this week."
"I am proud of Kiko Rosete and his round today. It was a great score of even-par 72 by him in 20-plus mph wins."
