Mercer To Face Bellarmine in Home Finale

MACON, Ga. – Mercer is set for its final home game of the season as the Bears will host Bellarmine at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Prior to the game, Mercer will honor its 10 graduating seniors.

DOMINATING THE FACEOFF X
The Bears have taken control of the faceoff X this season and currently rank third in the SoCon and 18th nationally with a 54.4 faceoff winning percentage. Kiel Brennan individually ranks third in the league and 23rd nationally with a 56.6 winning percentage.

CLOSE CALLS
Seven of Mercer's games this season have been decided by three goals or less. The Bears are 4-3 in those games. Two weeks ago, Mercer fell to No. 14 Richmond, 12-9, in the Spiders' smallest margin of victory in SoCon play and the most goals given up by Richmond this season.

SMOOTH CRIMINALS
With 8.64 caused turnovers per game, Mercer ranks second in the SoCon and 10th nationally. Patrick deHueck leads Mercer with 15 caused turnovers, followed by Walker Ensor and Jake Sadd with 12 each. deHueck ranks fifth in the league with 1.36 caused turnovers per game.

ALL CLEAR
Mercer is 177-of-206 on clears so far this season, notching an 85.9 clear percentage. The Bears are currently fifth in the SoCon and 46th nationally as six of the league's eight teams rank in the top 50 nationally.

HODOVAL BETWEEN THE PIPES
Bradley Hodoval has spent a majority of the time between the pipes this season. He has made 104 saves and allowed 108 goals for a .491 save percentage and an 10.70 goals-against average. He currently ranks fourth in the league in GAA and fifth in save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Bellarmine holds a 5-1 advantage in the series, but Mercer won the last meeting in Macon, an 8-6 victory in 2015.

SCOUTING BELLARMINE
Bellarmine is 2-3 in SoCon play, defeating High Point and VMI. The Knights are averaging 8.09 goals per game while giving up 13.27 gpg.

Tucker Ciessau leads Bellarmine with 19 goals, 13 assists and 32 points. He currently ranks fourth in the league in points per game (2.91) and sixth in goals per game (1.73) and assists per game (1.18). Jack Perkins and Brian Wall have also reached doubles figures in goals scored with 14 and 11, respectively.

Tyler Nangle has taken a majority of the Knights' faceoffs and is 64-of-150 this season, ranking seventh in the conference with a 42.7 winning percentage. As a team, Bellarmine is seventh in the SoCon with a 38.8 faceoff winning percentage.

Bellarmine has played four goalies this season, which Max Cartor and Jordan Dondoyano seeing the most time between the pipes. Cartor has made 62 saves and allowed 82 goals for a .431 save percentage and 14.91 GAA. Dondoyano has made 41 saves and allowed 38 goals for a .519 save percentage and 10.94 GAA.
