Mercer Softball Listed as Top 25 NFCA Academic Team

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Softball squad garnered a spot inside the Top 25 of the 2017-18 Easton/NFCA Academic Team List as announced on Wednesday evening. The Bears captured the 25^th slot with a team GPA of 3.516. Mercer was the highest Southern Conference school on the list. Grand Canyon University claimed the top spot with a 3.790 team GPA.

Mercer proved to get the job done on and off the field last season, posting a 32-17 mark on the diamond. The Bears finished 11-5 in league play, setting the program's single-season record for most SoCon wins. Mercer also placed 19 student-athletes on the 2017-18 Southern Conference Honor Roll to cap off a strong season in the classroom.
