Bears Head North to Face Cleveland State Tuesday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's lacrosse team will hit the road for its first contest away from Five Star Stadium, traveling to Cleveland, Ohio to face Cleveland State on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Scouting Cleveland State
The Vikings (0-2) also enter the matchup searching for their first win of the season. Cleveland State opened with a tough two-game slate to start their season, hosting No. 7 ranked Ohio State in its season opener and then traveling to face Michigan. The Vikings have notched 11 goals on the season, with an average of 24.5 shots per game.

Following competition on Tuesday, the Bears will return to Five Star Stadium to host Detroit Mercy next Sunday, Feb. 18, beginning at 2 p.m.

- Much like the Vikings, the Bears have scored 11 goals on the season, averaging 28 shots per contest.
- Senior midfielder Scott Baird has led the team on the offensive end this season, leading the squad with six points on three goals and assisting on three as well. Baird also leads the team in total shots (15).
- Sophomore goalkeeper Bradley Hodoval is 33rd in the nation in saves per game (8.5), with a total of 17 on the season.
- Junior Kiel Brennan in top 50 in the nation in ground balls per game with an average of 4.0 per contest. Brennan is also 29th in the nation in faceoff percentage, winning 48.6 percent on the year.
