Mercer Looks to Bounce Back Against Furman Sunday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears' women's tennis team looks to respond from their last outing as they host the Furman Paladins this Sunday, March 18 at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. Play is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.

Scouting the Paladins
Furman, the defending Southern Conference Champion, enters the matchup with an 8-8 record after defeating Georgia State, 4-3, in their last outing. Furman holds a 3-0 series advantage after beating Mercer, 7-0, last season in Greenville, S.C. Sophomore Katarina Kozarov and freshman Georgie Walker have both seen success this season, with 9-5 and 8-5 singles records, respectively. Adam Herendeen is in his third season as the head coach of the Paladins.

-The Bears fell 5-2 in their last outing to the ETSU Bucs, snapping a two-match winning streak.
-Junior Katie Sidor has been on fire as of late, winning nine of her last ten singles matches. Seven of the wins have come in straight sets.
-Mercer's No. 2 doubles duo of Anna Sovic and Sidor have been near perfect as a pair this season, posting a 7-1 record.
-Senior Grace Korta has seen action on singles courts No. 2, 3 and 4 this year and is 7-1 in her last eight decisions.
